Local air traffic controllers launched a strike on September 15th, disrupting flights nationwide. Although the country’s main air traffic controller union SNCTA is not on strike, walk-outs by members of other unions resulted in flight delays. According to the Air Transport Association, 81% of all available seats are sold. This is up from 77% in 2005. I can’t remember the last time I flew and there was an extra seat. If you are bumped from a flight, then there is a good possibility you might not get on the next flight.
