German airline votes to go on strike
Pilots at a major German airline voted on February 17th to hold a four-day strike next week to protest wage deals and proposed plans to shift jobs to lower-paying subsidiaries. Union officials said the strike will start February 22nd at midnight and that more than 90% of its members voted in favor of labor action. The strike is expected to cause massive delays and cancellations across the country, Europe, and internationally.
