The FAA is so political that fines don't mean much. The fines levied against Southwest and against American are nothing more than political grandstanding to try to make the public think the FAA was doing its job. Flying is amazingly safe. Yet, it may not feel like it. To deal with it, take a look at the video at www.fearofflying.com Don’t put too much stock in the FAA fines. The FAA is so political that fines don’t mean much. The fines levied against Southwest and against American are nothing more than political grandstanding to try to make the public think the FAA was doing its job.
